Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated: 27 August 2026
This Refund & Cancellation Policy applies to purchases made from Merce Font Academy ("MFA"), operated by Merce Font, SLU, Andorra.
Different rules apply depending on whether you purchase a recurring membership, an individual lesson, an event or a digital product.
Nothing in this Policy limits any mandatory consumer right that applies to you under applicable law.
1. Recurring Memberships
MFA memberships are billed in advance and renew automatically according to the billing interval shown at the time of purchase.
You may cancel a recurring membership at any time.
Unless otherwise stated for a particular membership or required by applicable law, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period.
You will normally retain access to the services included in your membership until that date, and no further renewal payment will be charged.
Cancelling a membership does not normally entitle you to a refund for a billing period that has already started.
We therefore recommend cancelling before your next renewal date if you do not wish to continue.
2. Unused Membership Benefits
Membership fees cover access to the membership as a whole during the relevant billing period.
A member is not normally entitled to a partial refund because they:
-
Did not attend included events
-
Did not use the Academy library
-
Did not access available materials
-
Did not make use of other membership features
Where a membership includes individual lessons, the conditions applicable to booking, cancelling, rescheduling and missing those lessons continue to apply.
3. Individual Lessons
If MFA or the teacher cancels a scheduled individual lesson and cannot provide it as agreed, the lesson will normally be rescheduled or replaced.
Student cancellations, rescheduling requests and missed lessons are subject to the cancellation conditions displayed during booking or otherwise communicated for the relevant lesson.
Where a student fails to attend or cancels outside the applicable cancellation conditions, the lesson may be considered used and may not be eligible for a refund.
If exceptional circumstances occur, please contact MFA. Requests may be considered individually, although this does not guarantee that a refund or replacement lesson will be granted.
4. Workshops, Q&A Sessions and Events
Where a workshop, Q&A session or event is included as part of a membership, failure to attend does not normally generate a refund or membership credit.
If a separately purchased event is cancelled by MFA and no reasonable replacement or rescheduled event is offered, the amount paid for that event may be refunded.
Changes to an event's teacher, programme or scheduling do not automatically create a right to a refund where the event can still reasonably be provided, subject always to applicable consumer law.
5. Digital Products and Downloads
Digital products may include sheet music, transcriptions, scores, downloadable materials and other digital resources.
Because digital products may become available for access or download shortly after purchase, refunds are not normally offered simply because a customer changes their mind after accessing or downloading the product, except where required by applicable law.
If you receive:
-
The wrong digital product
-
A corrupted or unusable file
-
A duplicate purchase
-
A product materially different from what was advertised
please contact MFA so that we can investigate and provide an appropriate solution.
Depending on the circumstances, this may include replacement, correction or refund.
6. Academy Content and Immediate Access
Certain memberships and products provide access to digital Academy content immediately after purchase.
Where applicable law provides specific rights concerning withdrawal from digital services or digital content, those rights will be respected.
Where legally permitted, requesting or beginning immediate access to digital content may affect a customer's ability to withdraw from the purchase after access has begun.
The precise statutory rights applicable to a purchase may depend on the nature of the product or service and the customer's location.
7. Duplicate or Incorrect Payments
If you believe you have been charged twice or charged an incorrect amount, please contact MFA as soon as possible.
Verified duplicate or erroneous charges will be corrected or refunded as appropriate.
8. Failed or Reversed Payments
If a payment fails, is reversed or remains unpaid, MFA may temporarily suspend access to the relevant membership or service.
A failed renewal does not automatically cancel amounts legitimately due for services already provided.
9. Refund Method
Approved refunds will normally be returned through the payment method or payment system used for the original transaction.
The time required for a refund to appear in your account depends on the payment provider, bank and payment method and is therefore outside MFA's direct control.
MFA cannot guarantee a specific bank-processing time after a refund has been successfully issued.
10. Payment Provider Rules
Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers.
Certain aspects of payment processing, refund execution or transaction handling may therefore also be subject to the applicable payment provider's technical procedures or mandatory conditions.
Where a third-party payment provider acts as the legal seller or merchant of record for a transaction, additional terms presented at checkout may apply.
In the event of a conflict between this Policy and a mandatory legal requirement applicable to a transaction, the mandatory requirement will prevail.
11. Exceptional Circumstances
We understand that exceptional circumstances can occur.
MFA may, at its discretion and where legally permitted, offer a rescheduled lesson, account credit, extension or refund in situations not otherwise covered by this Policy.
Doing so in one particular case does not create an obligation to provide the same exception in future cases.
12. How to Request a Refund or Cancellation
To request assistance with a cancellation, payment or refund, contact Merce Font Academy through the contact details available on mercefont.com.
Please provide sufficient information for us to identify the relevant purchase, such as your name, email address and the product or membership concerned.
13. Consumer Rights
Nothing in this Policy excludes, restricts or overrides any consumer right that cannot legally be waived.
Customers who believe that a matter has not been resolved appropriately may also have access to consumer-protection procedures available under applicable law.
